The picturesque village of Keady set amid the rolling hills and farmland of Armagh epitomizes the Irish country town. There is warmth and friendliness in the people eager to help or advise. The area around Keady is typical Ulster drumlin country, the local farmers engage in mixed agriculture, their needs are catered for by the wide variety of shops in the town.

Previously the town had two water powered mills one of which has been converted to a restaurant and tea room. For a relaxing holiday in a quiet country location Keady has a lot to offer, with its quality guest houses and genuine country pubs.

In the town center is an impressive memorial to the industrialist William Kirk who developed the nearby village of Darkley.
