The history of Newry and surrounding area is told in the museum.

There are may interesting artifacts on display including a Grandfather Clock made by renowned clockmaker John Gelston of Newry in 1770. The museum will relocate in late 2006 to the newly rediscovered plantation castle of Sir Henry Bagenal.
