This eighteenth century cottage was once the home of Agnes Burns sister of the famous Scottish poet Robbie Burns.

The cottage has exhibit's relating to Burns his life and poetry.

The cottage is set in Stephenstown Pond (not literally) an area of wood and park land, there is a lake with fine carp fishing, a playground and ecological centre.

 

 

 

Knockabbey Castle Gardens.
 

This is an opportunity for gardening enthusiasts to see various gardening styles in one place. There are formal Victorian gardens, herbaceous borders and medieval waterways.

The castle is set in beautiful parkland, in the fourteenth century tower house is an interpretation centre. In it you can watch a film on the history and renovation of the castle and gardens.
