Letterkenny overlooks Lough Swilly on the northern coast of Ireland. It is one of Donegal’s most important commercial Center's and is reputed to have the longest main streets in Ireland.

If you would like to explore northern Donegal and there is much to be seen, Letterkenny would make an ideal base. Its industries include the production of textiles, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and confectionery. St Eunan’s Roman Catholic Cathedral is 19th-century Gothic: the Church of Ireland parish church dates from the 17th century.

The Glenveagh National Park is located near Letterkenny, it consists of 16,000 hectares of mountains, lakes and bogs, the park boasts the largest herd of wild red deer in Europe, as well as Irelands only wild eagles.. Within the park is Glenveagh Castle, built between 1870-73

The Beltany stone circle near Letterkenny consists of 64 standing stones and is believed to be older than Stonehenge.
