County Donegal.
In the provence of Ulster.

Sell almost anything here.

Donegal.

By John Dawson.

I leave you now sweet donegal
reflecting as I do,
and cherishing the joy you've given
me with memories old and new.

From tramping in the Blue Stacks
amid the bog and heather,
to fishing your loughs and rivers
in all changing kinds of weather.

How I loved the irish that
I met in pubs and streets,
and laughter was always in the air
where ever we did meet.

I've captured your scenic beauty
and rambled your heritage trails,
your culture too has become part of me
be it the irish or the gael.

So farewell I bid you dear Donegal
my journey is complete,
to have known the jewel in Irelands crown
makes the parting 'o' so sweet
